When in Lithonia, GA I highly recommend stopping in and hanging out with Ty and Lee for a great selection of Cigars and great environment to get your Puff, Sip, Chat on!
Located at 6651 Hillandale Dr, Lithonia, GA 30058, for people familiar with a certain popular late night and early morning eatery, you will recognize the building size and shape but that’s where the Waffle House similarities come to a halt.
Upon entering Robusto’s you immediately have that feeling of… Yes… I’m in a true Cigar Lounge. The associates are great and the lounge patrons were open and welcoming. The phrase “arrive as strangers, leave as friends” was in full effect at Robusto’s as I was not the only first timer there. The team from Black Starline Cigars was also in the house to have a great Puff, Sip, Chat with yours truly. Check it out on an upcoming episode of the PuffChat podcast.
Until then, hit up Robusto’s and Puff-Sip-Chat-Repeat!

MOVING AROUND ROBUSTO’S TOBACCO HOUSE
MEET TY!
Reggie: So, tell me what you do here, Ty. What do you do here?
Ty: So, I’m just an associate here.
Reggie: Okay.
Ty: I’m here three days a week, Wednesdays, from 12:00 to 6:00, Thursday, from 12:00 to 8:00, and Fridays, from 12:00 to 10:00.
Reggie: Okay. So, how long as Robustos been around?
Ty: Robustos has been around since March 4th?
Reggie: Okay.
Ty: That’s when we opened the new shop here.
Reggie: Hold on, here is a new shop, so, there is an old shop?
Ty: Old shop is at [inaudible 02:11]. It was there for quite a while, most of the people know there, and [inaudible 02:16] bought this building, and we have been Robustos.
Reggie: Okay. Here you are too.
Ty: Yes.
Reggie: So, how long have you been puffing?
Ty: I have been puffing for 12 years.
Reggie: 12 years.
Ty: It started at first date with my husband.
Reggie: Okay. We got to go there for a second. So, first date, he brings out cigar.
Ty: First date, he was like—
Reggie: I guess he was a cigar guy already.
Ty: He was a cigar guy already. And he asked me how much do I know about cigar, and I said my father used to smoke. He is like, well, let’s just go [inaudible] lounge, the lounge used to be [inaudible], but now, it’s called Oscar, and that’s where we went.
Reggie: Okay.
Ty: And I have been puffing ever since.
Reggie: Okay. So, what’s your favorite puff?
Ty: My favorite, daily smoke that I start out with is always going to be the Guerrilla, Tarazona, I usually landed up with a big artist.
Reggie: Okay.
Ty: Like AJ Fernandez. I’m usually on about three, or four, six a day.
Reggie: Oh wow.
Ty: And then I always end my night with a Gran Habano.
Reggie: And this is it, for those who don’t know this Gran Habano, the title that has me unto is—
Ty: The Persian King Tiger.
Reggie: The Persian King Tiger. What would you like to sip on when you are on…?
Ty: My favorite sip is Tequila.
Reggie: Ah, Tequila, really? Are you a Tequila shot person or…?
Ty: I am a Tequila shot person and I also like the sip.
Reggie: Oh, you like the sip. I haven’t find the right Tequila to sip, which one should I…?
Ty: Um, I usually like to do it [inaudible 03:40], and some orange slices pair with it.
Reggie: I am more of a Scotch guy myself.
Ty: Okay.
MEET LEE
Reggie: Hey Stick Man, number one. Still here, Robusto’s in Lithonia. And I got another guest another of the key people here at Robusto’s, my man Lee. Lee and I hooked up on Instagram a while. And I am finally getting the chance to meet you in person.
Lee: Finally man.
Reggie: Tell me what’s been going on, are you guys staying safe, healthy, and all that stuff.
Lee: Yeah man, definitely. It’s all about safety right now, COVID going on, so, you know, here at the lounge we just make sure everything’s wipe down, spray, good to go.
Reggie: Okay, alright. Tell me what you do here at Robusto’s.
Lee: A little bit of everything man. To be honest, uhm, just about, just a few different things here, the social media curator, being one, and—
Reggie: How we hooked up.
Lee: Yeah, exactly. Exactly, how we hooked up online. If you know, you know a boss man rob, you know, he’s big on the Facebook. You know, when I brought Instagram, he’s like Instagram. I’m like, yeah, man. You definitely got to tap into that. I also run the humidor.
Reggie: Okay.
Lee: So, um, that’s a big part of my job.
Reggie: So, you guys have a great selection by the way.
Lee: Oh, yes. Thank you. Thank you. Definitely.
Reggie: So, tell me as a cigar line. Have you always been like a cigar guy? When did that start for you?
Lee: Um, you know, it’s just kind of, it’s weird, like it started for me, I was in Rhode Island with one of my one of my Bros. We randomly went out there literally just to go and we’re in Newport Rhode Island. And so, when we got there, we were just like okay, there’s not really much to do here. But right by where we’re staying there was a cigar lounge. I’m not sure the name. I forgot the name, but we went down there, had a cigar and you know, I kind of fell in love with it. So then, when I came back to Georgia, at that time, I was working out in Alpharetta, Johns Creek area.
Reggie: Okay, get along with [inaudible 05:37]
Lee: Yeah, exactly. And I was working for this company out there and so like… I remember every day after work the guys were like, hey man, you want to go to the Cigar Lounge down the street. It’s called Cutters, and I’m like—
Reggie: I know Cutters.
Lee: I’m like, yeah, you know, not really, I have my own friends. I’m really not trying to go down there. But when I came back, I was like hell, Yeah, and so after work, I had just got into real estate around the time. So, after work, I will go there everyday, everyday I have a cigar, and people say like, oh, what’s the first cigar you had, and it’s crazy because like when I got there, I literally Googled best cigar and Liga provider came up and I said give me two of those. And I smoke two every day after work.
Reggie: Oh, wow. So, really when you… I tell people all the time, living the lifestyle, it’s not necessarily about the cigars, although the cigars are a big part of it. That’s what we are puffing on.
Lee: Yeah.
Reggie: But, it’s about the People you meet.
Lee: Exactly.
Reggie: So, I’m assuming what kept you going back is the great conversation.
Lee: The great conversation in… the great conversation, business and money wise, you know, who doesn’t want to hear that.
Reggie: That’s right.
Lee: And then after being there so much, I left that job and start working for myself during the real estate. And so now I’m back on this side of town. So, literally I Google cigar lounges around and Hot ashes came across shop before it was Robusto’s now, and so I will come there everyday and start, you know, working on my stuff, working on my stuff. And now it’s the same conversation, only black version. You see what I’m saying? Now I have people that look like me talking this stuff. So, everyday
Reggie: That’s right. Source of it is a different element too.
Lee: Exactly.
Reggie: And right now in Atlanta for the Cigar Lounge movement, it’s Ground Zero Man in Atlanta, metro Atlanta is huge. People don’t know other parts of the country that we think about, specifically black Cigar Lounge, (Phone rings) (that’s okay, put them on tape if you want to) but this is ground zero. So, this is a great place to be for a man.
As stickmen, one of the things that we like to do is about the puff sipping and the chat. So, what’s your favorite stick to puff on?
Lee: That’s a hard one, my favorite stick to Puff on, I would have to say. You know what? The work of art by Pointe in Maduro.
Reggie: Okay.
Lee: I love the Perfecto.
Reggie: When I’m kicking it, it’s about the sipping too, so, not everybody’s drinks alcohol, but I know I’m a sip guy, you know, maybe it’s a little bit tip above the cigar person but what’s your favorite thing to sip on?
Lee: You know what, they’re probably gonna get on me for this. I like Seagram’s Gin. So, they are likes—
Reggie: That’s okay, when it’s hot outside, I don’t know if I do Seagram’s, but…
Lee: Oh, bourbon.
Reggie: But I’m a Gin guy—
Lee: Bourbon and Sapphire.
Reggie: And a soda and some lime over some ice. That’s me all day during the summer.
Lee: Yeah, it’s crazy because when I first start coming up here and smoking, drinking, you know, I’ll bring up my bottle of Seagram, they’ll be like, hey man, get that shit out of here, we don’t drink that in here, and you know, over time, over time here, not anymore. But every now and then I will go breaking—
Reggie: You are breaking the rules a little bit of the cigar shop by sipping on Seagram.
Lee: They are like—
Reggie: We like our brown liquor here.
Lee: Oh, yeah, these guys are bringing in like [inaudible 08:49], I’m like, you know, I don’t drop a nice buck on a stick in a minute.
Reggie: But check out our blog, we got a post that says our preference is scotch or bourbon, but at the end of the day you puff what you like and you sip what you like.
Lee: Exactly.
Reggie: And that’s what you did.
Lee: There we go.
Reggie: Man, thanks for hooking.
Lee: Oh, no, thank you.
Reggie: I’m so glad I got a chance to hook up with you.
Lee: Okay.
Reggie: It’s been a long time, I’m gonna stay around and, you know, talk some more.
