Reggie: Hey everyone, I am Reggie Campbell from the stickman. Stickman blog is a cigar and whiskey blog and I am aka stickman number one because it was my idea but anyway, I digress. So, hey, today is a momentous occasion. This is our very first stickman interview. So I’m coming to you from Maxwell cigar bar in beautiful downtown Woodstock and I am here with the founder of Maxwell Cigar bar Mr. Harvey Bergen. Harvey Welcome.
Harvey: Thank you.
Reggie: Thanks for being here with us today, awesome. So hey, let’s just jump right into this. All right, when I think about cigars and the venue and everything, I talked to people all the time, I come here myself. People refer to this as a man cave. Do you think, how would you say it?
Harvey: I describe it as the cheers of Woodstock
Reggie: Cheers of Woodstock. I have to tell you, you’re in the cigar business. I love cigars. That’s why we’re here today. I love cigars. I love a good whiskey but, uh, why cigars? You could have done anything.
Harvey: Been a fine cigar lover for over 30 years. I was in the business. I was very tired of the automobile business. I was in the finance department and started getting older and I thought this is my passion why not urn it into a business.
Reggie: I like that.
Harvey: Here we are.
Reggie: Yeah, here we are. So and when you think about it, you know, from being a cigar guy yourself and, and smoking cigars. There are probably all kinds of things that you could do in life. But what else do you want? What kind of makes Harvey tick? What else do you do out there?
Harvey: I play tennis. I watch a lot of sports. Big sports fan, big baseball fan.
Reggie: Awesome. When you think about the cigar business, what’s the most rewarding thing that you could say?
Harvey: Sitting there on a Friday or Saturday night and seeing how much fun everybody’s having makes me feel like I’m doing something worthwhile for society.
Reggie: Or file for the set with a good cigar and good whiskey. All right, so hey, what’s your favorite puff?
Harvey: Puff? I like medium the full-bodied cigars, some of my favorite brands are Prodrome, Perdomo, AJ Fernandez
Reggie: Awesome, what do you sip?
Harvey: Sip? I like single malt whiskey, single malt scotches, in particular, martinis, dirty martinis with cheese stuffed olives.
Reggie: Nice. And what do you like to talk about?
Harvey: I like to talk about, like stuff about sports. I like to talk about anything that comes up because it’s always an interesting conversation.
